Tumbleweed Causes Power Outage

SEAL BEACH — A tumbleweed that blew into a power circuit Tuesday night knocked out power for more than an hour in a southwest section of the city, authorities said.
More than 3,600 customers lost power beginning shortly before 6 p.m., said Steve Hansen, a spokesman with Southern California Edison Co.
The area affected was bordered by Seal Beach Boulevard, Pacific Coast Highway and the San Gabriel River, Hansen said.
Power was restored to the area about 7:15 p.m. after Edison crews located the tumbleweed and repaired the circuit, Hansen said.
