Families and Issues

Have I missed something? I thought that, as a registered American voter, my responsibility was to analyze the issues, the platforms, and the proposals made by the candidates of the two parties and select the man who most closely met my own personal views.
Instead, I am being asked to vote for a “family.” I am to choose between a Norman Rockwell picture--multicultural, 12 grandchildren, white-haired grandmother with pearls and country music--and a ‘90s two-career partnership with a single child and rock and roll music.
Shame on us all.
