ESCONDIDO : Ex-Navy Officer Dies in Roller-Skate Fall

A retired U.S. Navy lieutenant died Thursday, two days after he fell and struck his head while using in-line roller skates on an Escondido street, a spokesman for the county medical examiner’s office said.
George Edward Bukowski, 45, who lived with his wife on Kismet Road in San Diego, died at Palomar Medical Center at about 12:30 p.m. Thursday.
He was skating in the 2200 block of Willowbrook Street in Escondido on Tuesday when he fell and struck his head about 5 p.m., the spokesman said.
