Fire Burns 2 1/2 Acres in Ballona Wetlands

A brush fire burned about 2 1/2 acres in the Ballona Wetlands but was contained in about 30 minutes by Los Angeles city and county firefighters. Capt. Steve Sanchez of the Los Angeles County Fire Department said the fire burned along the bike path between Lincoln Boulevard and Fiji Way in Marina del Rey.
Sanchez said the cause of the fire Monday afternoon has not been determined yet, but added that “we have no reason to believe it was arson.”
