The Times incorrectly referred to the Bruce Herschensohn/Barbara Boxer meeting on Sept. 12 as a debate (Sept. 13).
In a debate there are questions, answers and rebuttals between the candidates. What took place was a forum where the candidates stated their positions. No opportunity to question or refute each other’s position existed.
Herschensohn has tried without success to debate Boxer. He has challenged her to a series of debates up and down our state. He believes that this way the people of California will be the real winners. If Boxer believes in her points of view, she should rejoice at the opportunity to have them held up to scrutiny, face her opponent and scrutinize his views.
