HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL ROUNDUP : Bumpus Scores 3 Touchdowns as Oxnard Rallies for 20-16 Win

Larry Bumpus’ third touchdown with 6 minutes 53 seconds remaining gave Oxnard a 20-16 nonleague victory over Crenshaw on Saturday night.
The Yellowjackets took an early 8-0 lead on the first play from scrimmage when Bumpus raced 72 yards and Lloyd Mix ran for the two-point conversion.
Crenshaw running back Davenport Vickers tied the score with a one-yard run and his own two-point conversion, also in the first quarter. When Crenshaw punted from midfield, defensive back Aaron Willard recovered at the Yellowjacket eight-yard line when Mix fumbled the punt.
Nickey Smith ran in for the score, giving Crenshaw a 16-8 lead at halftime.
Bumpus, who also threw a pass for a touchdown, rushed for 115 yards in 11 carries and Mix rushed for 107 yards in 17 carries to lead the Yellowjackets (2-0).
There were 10 turnovers in the game, all fumbles.
