Seattle Does Just Enough to Win, 10-6

FOXBORO, Mass. — Seattle Seahawks Coach Tom Flores found something good in his team’s puny, 10-point attack Sunday--his first victory of the year.
The Seahawks doubled their scoring for the season with a 10-6 victory over the New England Patriots, whose offense is even worse.
A Seattle defense led by tackle Cortez Kennedy kept the Patriots in trouble as it sacked Hugh Millen six times and forced three turnovers.
Chris Warren rushed for 122 yards and scored on a two-yard touchdown run on the game’s first series to lead a Seahawk offense that did just enough.
“I don’t think 10 points is high-powered, but it beats six points,” Flores said.
The Seahawks (1-2) almost didn’t win, even though Kennedy had six unassisted tackles and 2 1/2 sacks. They gained just 250 yards, five more than New England.
It took an interception by Patrick Hunter in the end zone with 35 seconds left to stop the final drive by the Patriots (0-2). Millen completed four consecutive passes to move from his 20 to the Seattle 25, but underthrew Irving Fryar in the end zone, and Hunter stepped in.
