UP, UP AND AWAY: The heavy traveling season is about to begin, but the recession may cut into John Wayne Airport’s customary annual passenger increases. . . . The new terminal opened in 1990 and handled nearly 3,000 more travelers over the five-day Thanksgiving period than the previous year. And last year registered another increase. . . . But airport spokeswoman Pat Ware expects little increase this year, though she advises passengers to show up early for flights.
