The City Council has approved road repairs for Cerritos Avenue, from Bloomfield Street to Lexington Drive and Denni Street, using city and federal funds.
Sully-Miller Contracting Co., the lowest bidder among seven companies, will undertake the $158,000 road repair project, which is expected to start by early next year.
The repairs will include resurfacing, adjusting manholes, replacing traffic loops, traffic striping and slurry sealing. The repairs will extend 10 feet beyond the city limits into Cypress.
Cypress has agreed to pay its share of more than $3,000.
City Engineer Arnt G. Quist said Los Alamitos has secured a commitment of $164,000 from the Federal Highway Administration, of which about $132,000 will be used. The city’s share amounts to $23,000, he said.
The project has been included in the 1992-93 budget, Quist said.
