Death of an Edition
It feels as if a friend has died. San Diego is mourning the demise of our Los Angeles Times. The loss is profound.
What to do? My dilemma probably mirrors that of many subscribers: I’m not willing to take two daily papers, but will the non-San Diego edition of The Times give me what I want? If there were no San Diego edition would Nancy Churnin have written her splendid articles about Oscar Wilde at Blackfriars Theater and Terrence McNally at Gaslamp Theater? Would Leah Ollman have reviewed the new show at the Mingei Museum of International Art?
Your continued coverage of San Diego’s theater and arts scene will determine whether or not I drop my Times subscription. I imagine many feel this way. I urge you to keep us as subscribers.
