SIMI VALLEY — The Ventura County coroner’s office ruled after an autopsy Saturday that the death of a 26-year-old Simi Valley waitress was the result of a gunshot wound to the chest.
Tamara Lynn Martinez, 26, was found outside a converted garage in the 4000 block of Apricot Road in Simi Valley about 4:30 a.m. Friday and was pronounced dead about 20 minutes later.
Martinez’s live-in boyfriend, who has used at least four names, was arrested on suspicion of killing Martinez, with whom he had argued Thursday evening, police said.
A small-caliber handgun that police believe was used in the killing has been recovered.
