PLACENTIA — Two armed men held up a 24-hour restaurant here early Saturday morning and fled with an undetermined amount of cash, police reported.
Sgt. Steve Toth said the holdup occurred at a Denny’s Restaurant, 108 E. Orangethorpe Ave., at 4:04 a.m. He said the two men entered the restaurant and displayed their weapons. One had a rifle, and the other held an automatic handgun, Toth said.
“They took control of the restaurant and brandished their weapons, but no shot was fired,” Toth said. The men then demanded money from the cashier, seized it and fled westbound toward the Orange Freeway in a dark red van, Toth said.
