SANTA PAULA : Man’s Body Found in Wrecked Truck

A man whose body was found under a wrecked pickup truck off Balcom Canyon Road was identified Saturday as a Santa Paula man who had been missing since Dec. 6.
The body of Jose Felix Duran, 41, was found Friday afternoon by four hikers, the California Highway Patrol said. Duran had apparently been driving north on the winding, mountainous road when his truck ran off the right side and plunged 400 feet down an embankment, the CHP said. Duran was ejected and the truck landed on top of him, the CHP said.
Senior Deputy Coroner Mitch Breese said investigators have not determined when Duran died.
