MUSICAL GUEST: Composer Randall Leonard will be the special musical guest at the 10 a.m. service Jan. 3 at the Santa Clarita Church of Religious Science, 24366 Walnut St., Newhall. Selections from his recordings, “Angels in the Rain” and “Flutterbys” will be featured.
PARENTS SEMINAR: A seminar to help parents feel confident in dealing with their children will begin at 10:30 a.m. Jan. 3 at Calvary Bible Church, 1101 So. Main St., Burbank. Topics will include homework without tears, motivation, discipline and sibling rivalry, in addition to responsibility and values. Each session will include time for questions and answers. The seminar, spanning several weeks, will be led by church member Joe Reed, a teacher with the Los Angeles Unified School District for 10 years. Admission is free.
