VENTURA : State Sen. Hart to Close Office Soon

State Sen. Gary Hart (D-Santa Barbara) will close his Ventura office on South Victoria Avenue at the end of this month, his aides said Friday.
Beverly O’Gorman, the senator’s administrative assistant, said she will set up part-time office hours each week in the County Government Center or another public building to meet with local residents. Hart’s staff will do most of their work on behalf of Ventura County constituents from their Santa Barbara office.
She said the decision to close the Ventura office reflects last year’s reapportionment of state Senate districts.
Hart’s district now covers San Luis Obispo and Santa Barbara counties and a corner of Ventura County, including the cities of Ventura, Ojai and Santa Paula.
As of Feb. 1, Hart’s constituents in Ventura County will be able to reach O’Gorman at a new number: 643-1719.
The senator’s Santa Barbara office is at 1216 State St., Suite 507. The phone number there is 966-1766.
