COMMUNITY COLLEGE WOMEN’S BASKETBALL : Orange Coast Gets Going in Second Half

Trailing by two points after the first half, Orange Coast opened the second with a 22-3 run and rolled to an 80-63 Orange Empire Conference women’s basketball victory Friday over Cypress at Orange Coast College.
LeAnn Kazmer (24 points) and Ricarda Kuypers (13 assists) recorded their season bests in those categories for Orange Coast (22-3, 6-1).
Yolanda Hearvey led Cypress (10-13, 1-6) with 21 points, and Tamika Harold had 19 points and a game-high 12 rebounds.
In other Orange Empire Conference games:
Golden West 79, Saddleback 46--Melanie Iwamasa had 28 points and seven assists and Cinnamon Basco had 21 points and 15 rebounds to lead host Golden West (27-2, 7-0). Tara Wolff had 14 points and eight rebounds for Saddleback (6-12, 3-4).
Riverside 49, Fullerton 42 (OT)--Carrie Glodt had 14 points and Christa McDonald had 12 for visiting Fullerton (13-14, 3-4).
