Ventura College’s Performing Arts department will hold auditions for an upcoming production of Michael Frayn’s farce “Noises Off,” Monday and Tuesday from 2 to 5 p.m. at the campus theater.
They’re looking for a first-rate troupe of five men and four women to play what the College’s second-rate press release refers to as “a third-rate troop (sic) of actors desperately trying to present a British farce.”
Performances are scheduled from April 30-May 16.
The Ventura College Theater is located on Loma Vista Road, just east of Day Road in Ventura. For further information, call 654-6313.

Measure for Measure, the madrigal singing group of the Ojai Shakespeare Festival, will be holding auditions in Ojai beginning Monday. The ensemble wears period costumes as they perform renaissance a cappella vocal music during the Festival in August, and at civic and private functions throughout the year.
Group founder Jaye Hersh says that she’s looking for singers of all ages, and that the ability to read music is preferable, but not required. Rehearsals are held weekly in Ojai, with an extended schedule in July.
For further information and to schedule audition time, call Hersh at 640-1751 after 6 p.m. weeknights.
