In the South Coast League third-place playoffs game:
Dana Hills 50, Mission Viejo 40--Dana Hills slowed the game down through the first three quarters to build a 10-point lead and then hit 18 free throws in the fourth quarter to defeat Mission Viejo at San Clemente High.
The Dolphins (13-12, 6-5) earned a spot in the Southern Section I-AA playoffs as the South Coast League’s third-place team.
Mission Viejo (11-14, 5-6) was led by Jeff Carr, who scored 19 points.
Adam Lasnier led Dana Hills with 17 points, including three three-pointers in the second quarter as the Dolphins built a 19-10 halftime lead.
