Kent Steffes and Adam Johnson of the United States defeated Brazilians Eduardo Bacil and Jose Loyola, 12-9, 12-7, in the men’s final of the world beach volleyball championships on Copacabana Beach near Rio De Janeiro, Brazil. In the women’s title match, Americans Karolyn Kirby and Nancy Reno beat Brazilians Adriana Samuel and Monica Rodrigues, 12-3, 12-10.
