Sweden needed an overtime goal to beat the Czech Republic, 4-3, in the semifinals and keep alive its chances for a third consecutive World Hockey Championship at Munich, Germany.
Its opponent in the title game will be a young Russian team that beat Canada, 7-4, in the other semifinal. Canada was made up primarily of NHL players.
