Regarding “For Some, the Signs are Unsettling,” by Patrick Goldstein (April 18):
Goldstein’s article, while excellent in its reporting and execution, could have been reduced to one terse sentence: Hollywood is being run by a lot of weak, insecure men--and, sadly, by a piddling few rationalizing women who have been only too eager to sell out.
Incidentally, I assume the reason that director Adrian Lyne so glibly mocks Susan Faludi’s book “Backlash” in his new movie, “Indecent Proposal,” has something to do with the fact that Faludi took Lyne to task in “Backlash” for his previous wallow in sexism, “Fatal Attraction.”
