Anchors Away: Mike Schneider, who was recently hired from ABC News, will replace Scott Simon as anchor on NBC’s weekend “Today” show. NBC News president Andrew Lack said that he and Simon would be discussing a number of possible opportunities at NBC News. Before his stint on the weekend “Today,” Simon was a prominent reporter and anchor on National Public Radio, for which he has continued to do pieces.
