John Force scored his fifth consecutive funny-car victory, Kenny Bernstein picked up his first of the season in top-fuel competition and Warren Johnson got his fourth victory of the year in the pro stock at the Mopar Parts Nationals at Englishtown, N.J. Force joined Don Prudhomme (1976) and Cruz Pedregon (1992) as the only funny-car drivers to post five consecutive victories.
