LOS ANGELES : 2 Charges in Shooting at Denny’s Truck Dismissed
- Share via
Two felony charges were dismissed Thursday against a man accused of firing a shotgun at Reginald O. Denny’s truck during the start of last year’s riots.
Superior Court Judge Michael Tynan ruled that evidence against Lance Jerome Parker was insufficient to try him on two counts of attempt to burn for allegedly shooting at the beating victim’s gas tank and at a gas pump near Florence and Normandie avenues.
Parker, 27, still faces two counts of discharging a firearm with gross negligence, shooting at an unoccupied vehicle, assault with a firearm, and shooting at an occupied vehicle. If convicted, he faces a jail term of more than 10 years.
