Because this is her final golf tournament as a junior, Elise Kimm would like to make the USGA Girls’ Junior Championship special.

Kimm, a Valley Village resident who graduated from Grant High in June, shot a five-over-par 77 Tuesday at Mesa Verde Country Club in Costa Mesa for a two-round total of 152, qualifying for match play.
Other qualifiers included Jill Kaopua of Oxnard (159) and Lindy Donnelly of Thousand Oaks (163), who survived a seven-way playoff for the six final berths.
