Lynch Trying Out for U.S. ‘B’ Team

Ken Lynch, the 1993 volleyball All-American from Cal State Northridge, is participating in tryouts for the U.S. national “B” team at a camp this week in San Diego. But the competition could have come at a better time.
Lynch suffered problems with his feet during the final two matches of the Olympic Festival a week ago. He had problems with his back, knees and ankles during the Northridge season.
“Everyone’s fighting for spots,” Lynch said. “It’s going to get ugly. And I’m a little concerned because I’m not at my peak. I might have to use mind over matter.”
The top 12 of the 18 players on the national “B” team will travel to Greece and Germany for a tournament.
