The Region : Transit Survey of Youths
Foothill Transit is surveying more than 1,000 high school and college students this week to find out their views about ride-sharing and public transportation.
Survey results will be compiled and distributed to the schools next month, and are meant to act as catalysts for round-table discussions with students from throughout Foothill Transit’s operating zone.
“Young people are the commuters of the future, and their opinions are very important in our effort to make transportation more desirable and convenient,” said Foothill Transit spokeswoman Joyce Baner.
Officials say they are trying to encourage ride-sharing in the future.
Foothill Transit serves people living and working in 29 cities in the San Gabriel and Pomona valleys. The 327-square-mile system provides local bus service as well as express lines connecting those communities with downtown Los Angeles and Pasadena.
