CAMP PENDLETON, Calif. — A judge recommended Thursday that a Navy psychiatrist be reprimanded and fined $5,000 for dereliction of duty and conduct unbecoming an officer.
The judge, Col. Dane Clark, could have recommended that Cmdr. William J. Forte be sentenced to 16 1/2 years of confinement and dismissal from the Navy.
On Wednesday, Forte, 41, was acquitted of sexual harassment and attempted sodomy charges, but he was found guilty of negligent dereliction of duty for failing to record prescriptions written for a staff member in a health record.
