The following are selected entries from the crime logs of local law enforcement agencies between Oct. 18 and Oct. 24: Glendale
Gardena Avenue, 1600 block--Using a building’s access code, thieves entered a business and stole video equipment, valued at $4,000, at 1:16 a.m. Oct. 18.
Hahn Avenue, 500 block--Thieves stole a gun and jewelry valued at $3,300 from a residence between 8 a.m. and 7 p.m. Oct. 18.
Raleigh Street, 1000 block--After removing the screen from a bedroom window, thieves entered and stole cash and jewelry, valued at approximately $1,400, before 3:05 p.m. Oct. 19.
North Pacific Street, 1100 block--A thief pushed a woman up against a laundry’s wall and grabbed $40 from her hand at 2:30 p.m. Oct. 21.
Glenwood Avenue, 1800 block--Thieves took 200 compact discs valued at $3,400 from a residence between 2:30 and 3:15 p.m. Oct. 21.
San Fernando Road, 4800 block--Thieves broke into a storage building and stole stereo and computer equipment valued together at $1,180 in a theft discovered Oct. 23.
North Sonora Avenue, 1100 block--Possibly using flammable liquid, arsonists set fire to the door of a business, causing unknown damage to the door, door frame, carpet, ceiling and balcony at 12:45 a.m. Oct. 23.
La Canada Flintridge
St. Katherine Road, 200 block--Thieves broke a window to enter a residence and steal a VCR, valued at $300, between noon and 3 p.m. Oct. 19.
Berwick Drive, 3700 block--Entering a residence through an unlocked rear window, thieves stole a VCR, tools, and jewelry, valued together at $19,800, between 10:10 a.m. and 5 p.m. Oct. 20.
Foothill Boulevard, 900 block--Thieves stole snowboards valued at $6,750 from a sporting goods store, then later sprayed a witness with caustic spray between Oct. 20 and 21.
Montrose
Waltonia Drive, 2100 block--As a woman left her car in her driveway, a thief from a second car grabbed her purse containing $50 at 4 p.m. Oct. 20.
Atwater Village
Brunswick Avenue, 4400 block--Thieves forced an air-conditioning unit from a wall to enter a residence and steal property valued at $1,700 in a theft discovered Oct. 19.
Eagle Rock
Coringa Drive, 4900 block--Opening an unlocked rear door, thieves ransacked a residence and stole a radio and video equipment, valued together at $2,500, between 8 a.m. and 3:40 p.m. Oct. 18.
Las Flores Drive, 1300 block--Thieves smashed the rear window of a residence and stole cash and jewelry, valued together at $4,650, between 11:30 a.m. and 12:15 p.m. Oct. 19.
Kerwin Place, 2500 block--Thieves forced a rear window to enter a residence and steal cash and camera equipment, valued together at $1,100, at 11 a.m. Oct. 20.
Sagamore Way, 3200 block--Entering a garage through an open rear window, thieves stole property, valued at $3,500, between 12:01 and 2 a.m. Oct. 21.
Monte Bonito Drive, 5000 block--Thieves entered a residence through an unlocked side window and stole cash and tapes or records, valued together at $2,505, between 9:15 a.m. and 5:15 p.m. Oct. 22.
Echo Park
Mayberry Street, 2400 block--Thieves broke into a school and stole food valued at $150 in a theft discovered Oct. 18.
Avalon Street, 1800 block--After entering a man’s home, thieves waited until he returned home, then brandished a gun and stole pet animals and a TV, valued together at $5,005, at 11:30 a.m. Oct. 18.
Cerro Gordo Street, 1500 block--Approaching a man on foot, thieves with a gun stole cash and jewelry, valued together at $1,480, at 9:30 p.m. Oct. 18.
Lemoyne Street, 1600 block--Thieves entered a residence through a broken side window and stole a TV and radio, valued together at $1,200, Oct. 18 or 19.
Glassell Park
Moss Avenue, 2200 block--Thieves used channel lock pliers to force open a basement door and steal tools and sporting goods valued together at $2,400 from a residence Oct. 19 or 20.
Drew Street, 3200 block--A thief posing as a utility worker told a man that he needed to check the water pipes, then kept the man in his bathroom while he broke into a bedroom safe and stole cash and jewelry, valued together at $1,130, at 12:30 p.m. Oct. 20.
Wollam Street, 1800 block--As a man parked his car next to a curb, thieves in a truck pulled a gun on him and stole cash and jewelry, valued together at $478, at 9:30 p.m. Oct. 21.
Figueroa Street, 2200 block--Thieves took a lock off a woman’s storage shed, stole art objects and household goods valued at $25,700, then replaced the lock with a different one between 8 a.m. and 12:45 p.m. Oct. 22.
Marchena Drive, 4000 block--After following a man home, thieves entered his house, then pulled guns and stole cash and jewelry, valued together at $22,940, at 10:10 p.m. Oct. 22.
Highland Park
Monte Vista Street, 5400 block--Thieves broke into a school and stole tapes or records and other property valued at $420 in a theft discovered Oct. 18.
North Avenue 55, 200 block--Entering through a front door, thieves went directly to a closet and stole jewelry, valued at $1,550, between 10:30 a.m. and noon Oct. 18.
Crescent Street, 6600 block--Thieves forced open a front window and stole a TV and video equipment, valued at $1,100, between 1 and 4:30 p.m. Oct. 18.
York Boulevard and Aramdale Avenue--A thief walked up to a woman and tried to talk to her, punched her several times in the face, then took cash and jewelry, valued together at $220, at 12:30 a.m. Oct. 21.
York Boulevard and Figueroa Street--A woman was hit with an unknown object and knocked unconscious, then her purse containing $40 was stolen between 9 p.m. Oct. 21 and 1 a.m. Oct. 22.
Los Feliz
North Edgemont Street--Thieves pried open emergency escape bars of a residence window, then stole documents and a TV, valued together at $1,050, between 8:15 a.m. and 10:15 p.m. Oct. 19.
North Vermont Avenue, 1100 block--Entering through a business’s roof ventilation system, thieves smashed through the ceiling and stole cash and camera equipment, valued at $1,900, between Oct. 21 and 22.
Prospect Avenue, 4100 block--Thieves cut a chain and stole a wheelchair valued at $1,000 from a residence porch Oct. 21 or 22.
West Sunset Boulevard, 4300 block--Approaching a man from behind, thieves held a knife to his throat and stole his wallet containing $200 at 11:50 p.m. Oct. 22.
Mt. Washington
Isabel Street, 200 block--Thieves smashed a side window to enter a residence and steal a radio and video equipment, valued together at $1,200, between 6 and 7:30 p.m. Oct. 22.
Glendale Boulevard, 2400 block--Thieves with a gun entered a man’s car and stole it and $2,605 at 7:05 p.m. Oct. 18.
