Two Moorpark High School students were arrested Tuesday, one on suspicion of raping a 14-year-old girl and the other on suspicion of aiding the sexual assault, Ventura County Detective Bob Le May said.
The two boys, ages 16 and 14, were booked into the county’s juvenile hall, but charges have not been formally filed, officials said. Police declined to identify the youths because of their ages.
The older of the two boys is accused of rape and grand theft, while the younger is accused of conspiracy to commit rape, Le May said.
The assault reportedly occurred Oct. 18 at the high school, Le May said. The alleged victim told police that the two boys deliberately got her drunk. Once she became intoxicated, she said, the older boy raped her.
After the alleged attack, the 16-year-old reportedly stole some money from the girl and both boys fled the scene, Le May said.
The girl reported the incident immediately and underwent a medical examination. Police arrested the boys after further investigation.
