2 Working Scam to Steal Purses of Receptionists

FULLERTON — Two women have been stealing purses from lone receptionists in medical offices in the past months, six of them just this week, police said Friday.
The pair enter an office and one distracts the receptionist by asking to use the restroom, Fullerton police Sgt. Glenn Deveny said. While the office employee is away from her desk helping the first woman, the accomplice snatches her purse or any other valuables.
In at least one case, the two women wrote a fraudulent check within an hour of the theft, police said.
