Three weeks ago, the Washington Capitals would have lost this kind of game.
Peter Bondra scored twice in the third period, including the go-ahead goal with 5:30 remaining, as the Capitals rallied to beat the struggling Vancouver Canucks, 3-2, Friday night at Landover, Md.
After an 0-6 start, Washington has won four straight and seven of eight to reach .500 (7-7-0) for the first time this season.
Ottawa 7, Winnipeg 6--Bob Kudelski scored three goals, including the game-winner at 1:33 of overtime, in the Senators’ victory at Winnipeg.
It was the third road victory for the Senators, who were 1-41-0 on the road last season. The Senators are 3-4-1 on the road this season.
San Jose 4, Dallas 2-- Pat Falloon scored the tying and winning goals in the third period to lead the Sharks at San Jose.
Falloon scored his fifth goal on a blue-line blast that beat goalie Andy Moog and tied the score at 2-2 with 13 minutes left.
Just more than five minutes later, Falloon skated down the right side and beat Moog with a wrist shot from the middle of the faceoff circle to give the Sharks a 3-2 lead.
The Sharks are 4-1-1 in their last six games after opening the season 0-8-1.
