SAN CLEMENTE — California Highway Patrol officers arrested two robbery suspects Thursday night after a 45-minute, high-speed chase from 6th Avenue in San Diego to the Avenida Estrella off-ramp here.
The incident began just before 7 p.m., when San Diego police asked the CHP to pursue the suspects’ car, which was going nearly 90 m.p.h. on the northbound Santa Ana Freeway, a dispatcher said.
Both suspects, who were not identified by police, were arrested without incident after the chase, in which they switched off their lights and repeatedly shifted lanes to avoid capture, the dispatcher said.
