Homeowners who were not covered by insurance or did not receive enough assistance through loans provided by the Small Business Assn. to rebuild in the aftermath of the Altadena fires can apply for additional aid through the Individual and Family Grant Program.
The program will fund up to $22,000 worth of disaster-related expenses, such as replacing an uninsured fire-damaged car, paying for medical, dental or funeral costs related to the fires, or removing debris and ash from burned-out home sites.
Acting as the federal and state “safety net” program, the grant program aims to prevent uninsured or undercompensated people from slipping through the cracks, said administrator J. Shawn Ortiz.
The office is at 245 S. Los Robles Ave., Pasadena; phone (800) 462-9029.
