Levlad, Naturade Agree to Stock-Swap Merger

Levlad Inc., a Chatsworth manufacturer of skin- and hair-care products, has agreed to merge with Naturade Inc., a Paramount-based maker of vitamins, nutritional supplements and skin- and hair-care products.
Terms of the proposed transaction have not been finalized, but it will take the form of a non-taxable stock swap, Levlad said.
After the merger, Levlad and Naturade Products would operate as wholly owned subsidiaries of Naturade Inc.
The transaction is subject to shareholder approval and is expected to close in the first quarter of 1994.
