Assistance Offered to Victims of Fires
Fire victims looking for assistance during the holidays can call a network of volunteers and professionals set up by a student at Cal State Northridge.
The Fire Crisis Intervention and Emergency Relief Network offers counseling and referrals for victims of the recent Southland fires.
Yvonne Gilon, a freshman and director of community services at the university, has organized networks of counselors, insurance experts and other professionals to help victims.
Victims can also call to be connected with families who have offered to take fire victims into their homes. Victims can also receive information on holiday meals for those left homeless by the flames.
For more information, leave a message for Gilon weekdays between 1 and 5 p.m. at (818) 885-2393 or (818) 885-2477.
