Saddleback returns the most starters of any team in the league. They are led by Bradshaw, who moves to point guard full time after averaging 16 points a game last year. “He’s really improved his game to run the floor well, and makes good decisions,” Quinn said. “I moved him to point guard the last six games of the year, and we went 5-1. I kind of kicked myself for not doing it earlier.” Johnson, who missed last season with a broken wrist, is a mobile forward who can score inside and outside. The team lost versatile 6-6 forward Rob Holloway, who moved to Seattle. Quinn said Dreyer, who started as a freshman last year, made great strides in summer-league play. The 16th-year coach expects his team to finish in the middle of the pack. “I would call us somewhere right in the middle,” he said. “We could go 2-12 and lose every game by a point, or we could win those one-point games.” This will be Saddleback’s last year in the Sea View League; they move to the new Golden West League in 1994-95. Likewise, Quinn will be moving on after this season; he is planning at least a one-year sabbatical from coaching to spend more time with his family. “Win or lose, we’ll be a fun group--a nice group to end with,” he said.
