MIAMI — A record number of Cuban refugees floated to Florida in 1993. Last year, 3,656 Cubans reached Florida by boat, up 43% from 2,557 in 1992, Coast Guard Petty Officer Chris Whitlock said Saturday. It was the largest exodus since the 1980 Mariel boat lift, which saw 125,000 Cubans flee to Florida.
