GIRLS’ BASKETBALL ROUNDUP : Rogers Helps Lead Rancho Alamitos Past Garden Grove

Center Akilah Rogers had 23 points and 14 rebounds to lead Rancho Alamitos to a 57-41 victory over Garden Grove in Garden Grove League girls’ basketball Friday night.
Rancho Alamitos improved to 8-5 and 2-0. Garden Grove dropped to 3-8, 1-1.
In other Garden Grove League games:
Kennedy 56, Los Amigos 36--Leslie Prochaska scored 14 points and Damia Williams added 12 for Kennedy (2-0 in league).
Carmela Zavala scored 14 points for Los Amigos (0-11, 0-2).
La Quinta 52, Santiago 41--Rhonda Gondringer again had the hot hand, scoring 17 points for La Quinta, which is 2-0 in league.
Forward Cari Remmel had 22 points for Santiago.
Pacifica 33, Bolsa Grande 28--Holly Pawlowski had 10 points for Pacifica, and Theodora Bryant 10 for Bolsa Grande.
