Malibu Comics Selling Minority Stake: The fast-growing comic book publisher said it has sold a piece of the company to Worldwide Sports & Entertainment, a Denver entertainment investment business. Terms were not disclosed. As a result of the deal, Westlake Village-based Malibu is expected to work with Worldwide to develop an animated series based on its “Ultraverse” characters, most likely to be aired in late 1995. Worldwide is part of Excorp Group of Malaysia, which is also the parent of Philippine Animation Studios Inc. in Manila.
