GLENDALE — Fire gutted a three-story home early Sunday after an explosion that may have ignited the blaze, authorities said.
About 30 firefighters battled the 12:30 a.m. blaze in the 2800 block of Kennington Drive and brought it under control within one hour, but cleanup efforts at the scene continued until about 7 a.m., said Mike Hand, a fire dispatcher.
Fire officials said the home was a total loss, and estimated the structure’s loss at $500,000. The loss to contents in the home was estimated at $50,000, Hand said.
The cause of the blaze is under investigation, Hand said.
