JEFFERSON PARK : Democrats to Speak at Candidates Forum

Religious, community and labor organizations are sponsoring a public forum for three Democratic gubernatorial candidates from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at West Angeles Church of God in Christ, 3045 Crenshaw Blvd.
The candidates scheduled to attend are state Treasurer Kathleen Brown, state Insurance Commissioner John Garamendi and state Sen. Tom Hayden (D-Santa Monica).
All statewide Democratic candidates have been invited to attend. Candidates will be questioned by a panel of community leaders and elected officials.
Participating organizations and individuals include West Angeles Pastor Charles Blake, the Los Angeles Ecumenical Congress of Churches, Service Employees International Union Local 660, Sweet Alice Harris of Parents of Watts, Joe Hicks of the Southern Christian Leadership Conference, Reps. Julian C. Dixon (D-Los Angeles) and Walter R. Tucker III (D-Compton), Lillian Mobley of South- Central Senior Citizens and Brotherhood Crusade President Danny Bakewell.
