Ten Tustin High School students have been accepted into UC Irvine’s program for high school scholars.
The students, all juniors, will take up to two courses at UCI each quarter in addition to their high school classes, said Pete Kellner, a counselor at Tustin High School.
By attending the university program, the students will enter college with some of their requirements completed, Kellner said.
The students are Lakesha Cash, Geoffrey Ching, Kenneth Clark, Krista Hollinger, Daniel Hunter-Holly, Eugenia Lai, Noah Margolis, Martin Nakatsu, Scott Polston and Eimi Tomimatsu.
Kellner said the students were selected based on grade-point average, PSAT/SAT test scores and recommendations from their counselors. They pay tuition for their classes at the same rate as other UCI students, he said.
