Clifford, Altman Sued in BCCI Case: Lawyers and accountants trying to collect money for depositors of the failed bank have filed a $55-million civil lawsuit against New York attorney and financier Robert Altman and former Defense Secretary Clark Clifford, the Washington Post reported. The paper said the suit was filed Friday in federal court in the District of Columbia. The suit alleges that Clifford and Altman had “an irreconcilable conflict of interest” because they served as lawyers both for Bank of Credit and Commerce International and for First American Bankshares Inc., according to court documents.
