Longshoremen Oust Incumbent President: David Arian of San Pedro lost his bid for a second three-year term as president of the International Longshoremen’s and Warehousemen’s Union. Vice President Brian McWilliams defeated Arian by a vote of 7,453 to 5,962, according to results released by the San Francisco-based union. McWilliams, of Petaluma, Calif., will become the fourth president to head the union, which represents 45,000 workers in Hawaii and Alaska and on the U.S. and Canadian West Coasts.
