Pro Piano CD 224501. As Director of Artists and Repertoire for the company and co-producer of this disk, Okashiro has essentially provided a compilation of recital standards. The Japanese pianist approaches the material with discernible intelligence, but blankets it all with a Romantic bent. Still, the performances impress. They abound with subtle shadings and lively projection, all well-served by technical security and enhanced by a recording characterized by much--almost excessive--reverberation.
