First American Title Insurance Acquires Dallas-Ft. Worth Firm

First American Title Insurance Co. said Monday that it has acquired Republic Title of Texas Inc., a Dallas-Fort Worth title insurer that wrote $15 million in premiums for 1993.
First American did not disclose terms of the deal. The Santa Ana-based title company previously owned 20% of Republic, which will continue operating under that name. Republic has specialized in the commercial real estate market and will be expanded to offer title insurance services in the residential market as well, First American officials said.
