Vietnam Drills for Oil in Disputed Area: The exploratory drilling is in the Tu Chinh field, southeast of southern Vietnam, in an area where China has already awarded rights to a U.S. company. The drilling is part of Vietnam’s aggressive attempt to expand its infant oil and gas industry with Russian, U.S. and Australian partners.
