‘City of Angels’ Fest at Directors Guild

The first “City of Angels” film festival will be held Sept. 21-24 at the Directors Guild of America, 7920 W. Sunset Blvd. The theme, “Los Angeles in the Movies: Dreams, Conflicts, and Lifestyles,” will feature eight major Hollywood film productions from the last 25 years, focusing on non-Hollywood Los Angeles, plus several student films.
Screenings will include: “Grand Canyon” on Sept. 21; “Boyz N the Hood” and “El Norte” on Sept. 22; “L.A. Story” and “American Gigolo” on Sept. 23, and “Chinatown,” “Stand and Deliver” and “Blade Runner” on Sept. 24.
