Parking Meter Thefts

Parking meter thefts are up (Aug. 31), and the Los Angeles Transportation Department hopes to solve the problem by eliminating parking spaces in the affected areas. What a typically bureaucratic solution: Punish those who have done no wrong. It’s simply one more instance of the public-be-damned attitude so typical in government today.
